This page is not officially authorized by the candidate. However, as per the campaign note to supporters dated June 6, 2009 I am soliciting campaign donations on behalf of the Anna Choi Campaign. Please note the campaign staff is also fully aware of this web page and website.Major Domestic Issues Affecting Our Virginia Communities and Neighboring Nation's Capital!
Traffic
One of Anna's goals is to help alleviate traffic woes in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV). The irony of the traffic situation in the
nation's capital and surrounding environ is that the region is home to
some of North America's most talented scientists and engineers.
National Governors Association Infrastructure Forum: Transforming Our Transportation System, June 24, 2009 Therefore, Anna Marie Choi and her administration believe that the #1
cause of traffic congestion in the DMV is mismanagement on the part of
current government officials. There are many alternatives to the
current traffic problems affecting our communities and previous and current government
administrations have had ample time in which to implement changes.
Current levels of traffic congestion can be easily
mitigated with a competent team of scientists, civil
engineers and proper government oversight. The key component of Anna's plan to help alleviate the current traffic problems in the area is the development of light rail.
Light Rail
Light rail has considerable benefits including:
- The reduction of traffic
- Less pollution
- Decreased dependency on foreign oil
Opponents to the integration and implementation of light rail systems often cite incidents in various states in which there have been issues with newly created light rail systems.
The main problem with such projects is quite simple:
Mismanagement. Anna Marie Choi's team of technical experts can manage a light rail integration into our Northern Virginia communities.
The creation of a light rail system in Virginia will create 1,000s of new jobs.
It is rather obvious that various 'road and highway projects' are funded, but that they take much too long to materialize.
Consequently, the average citizen is left wondering if anything is really being done to help alleviate traffic woes.
Opponents of the light rail system do not want you to consider the fact that Northeast Asia consists of some of the world's most sophisticated, and most highly advanced, light rail systems. Some opponents want to keep their friends in office so that things can simply remain as they are and as they have been...at your expense.
Our message and platform are clear...
Rail please, now.
"More Trains, Less Traffic"
Rail cuts dependency on the need for oil.
